About Us
Casa Mare, Inc. is a 502 (c)(3) Non-Profit Diaspora Association, legally registered in the United States with present location in Sacramento, CA.
We seek to unite all indigenes of the Republic of Moldova, by birth descent, adoption or marriage, whose residence is in California.
Our Vision.
To see a unified and engaged Moldovan community as empowered Moldovan-American citizens, contributing to cultural, social and economic development of our motherland and the adoptive country.
Create a center to develop cultural and educational activities, to showcase culture, music and art.
Our Mission.
To promote and preserve Moldovan identity and traditions. To create value and make a difference.
Our Objectives.
- To promote unity, friendship and harmony among us, as well as with other groups through dynamic cooperation, volunteering, and exchanging useful information.
- To support charitable causes and provide humanitarian assistance to those in need.
- To promote social-cultural and economic well-being of our members, community by encouraging one another in all honest endeavors.
- To uphold integrity and nurture mutual understanding, respect for life, and tolerance toward society at large.
- To engage in any other activities that are appropriate and proper under section 501(c)(3) of the Code.
Values and Principles
We believe in traditions and the idea of passing cultural values to future generations, because:
- Tradition reminds us of who we are, so we don’t get lost in “no man’s land”
- Tradition takes us in the past and energizes the ties with the inheritance left by our ancestors.
- Tradition enables us to showcase the principles of our Founding Fathers.
- Tradition is what preserves the beauty of authenticity as found in our national costume. In contrast to fashion, Moldovan folk costume it covers not only the body but also the soul.
- Tradition is a path through which we can discover our dignity, through which we can affirm our value.
- Tradition reinforce value such as freedom, faith, integrity, a strong ethic work and the value of being selfless.
- Tradition contributes a sense of comfort and belongings. It brings family together and enables people to reconnect with friends, celebrate diversity and unite as a group.
- Tradition offers a chance to say “Thank you” for contribution that someone has made.
- Tradition serves as an avenue for creating memories for our families and friends.
